I just replied to a post on the Filmtracks board about "who copied what" in the review for "The Missing" regarding a band from Finland called Nightwish, who released a song titled "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" with a familiar melody:

Here's the "Orchestral version" of the same song, which isn't as obvious since the singer performs the melody, not the strings:

Notice a piece of "The Missing " in there?

This song was recorded the same month "The Missing" was released in theaters - November 2003, meaning the band easily could have heard it, but not, I repeat NOT the other way around:

Horner wrote the score long before this song even existed yet alone played anywhere, especially considering the album it was released on came out in 2004 and the song itself was released as a single in Finland and Japan only the same year.

Now, I could chock it up to coincidence, but no one ever affords Horner that luxury.

I don't hear it. Can you give me some reference in The Missing and in the song to compare to?

In "The Missing", it's the second half of the main theme.

An example that sounds like the song is 7:35 - 7:45 of 'The Long Ride Home'.

In the first youtube video (the concert performance) it's 1:02 into the video.
