My full name is Alexander Brouns but I'm called Alex pretty much all the time. Most of my family is from Holland so I consider myself a Dutch/American citizen. My father was in the Army when I was born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1974 but since he was in the army I was born American but at the same time I'm also dutch blooded. On my soundtrack front, I've been a devoted Horner and Williams soundtrack fan since 1993 and have collected all of their works since then. I also enjoy Goldsmith, Goldenthal, James Newton Howard, and others including Frizell's work on Alien: Resurrection which to me has impressed quite much considering Horner did not do the score. On my favorite list from Horner I would have to say: Cocoon, Glory, Willow, Krull, both Star Treks, The Rocketeer, Titanic and others but of course there is no score that I don't really like at all because I'm still catching up on some of his earlier works and even still ocassionally still listen to his works that I'm not really crazy about such as Bopha! or Jumanji.
Anyway I would like to take this opportunity to thank Elmo whom I've known on the internet since his early days with the Shrine and I absolutely think that this is the best way for all of us to discuss Horner and get to know one and another. When I first checked out his site I was in awe that there was such a site, that someone actually likes Horner more than me, and how in only 2 years this site has attracted so many devoted Horner fans--as devoted as, if not more so than, I am. Great Work, Elmo and keep it up! Hopefully there can be a chat place for us all so we can talk in real time.
